Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this park is where Jamestown colonists first landed in the New World back in 1607. Today the park is a recreational dream for locals and tourists alike.

Visitors can explore the diverse habitats of the bald cypress swamps, lagoons, and lush aquatic forest. With over 20 miles of trails, 1.5 miles of sandy beaches on the Chesapeake Bay, and close to 3,000 acres of beautiful scenery there is plenty to see and do here. With a wide variety of recreational activity such as hiking along the well-maintained trails, camping on the beach, biking, or a leisurely picnic, there are many ways to explore the park. Jet ski, paddleboard, boat, and kayak rentals are available at the park as well for those who want to explore off-shore.
