Day One

After checking in at the Best Western Plus Sandcastle Beachfront Hotel, step outside and onto the boardwalk. Located just minutes away, the boardwalk is a three-mile stroll along the Atlantic Coast that offers restaurants, shops, bars, live music, and an amusement park.

See all the sites like King Neptune Statue and Naval Aviation Monument Park by renting a bike or if with a large group, hop on a surrey bike that can hold up to eight people. It’s a great way to see a lot of the city in a short amount of time. If happy hour is your thing then make a quick stop at Calypso Bar and Grill, where everyone is treated like a local. Happy hour is from 2:00 – 9:00 PM, daily.

End your day by heading back to the hotel for a relaxing evening at our beach-front restaurant, Shoreline Grill. With beautiful views of the ocean and the beach, you can sample some of the area’s finest seafood like sea scallops, salmon, shrimp, or crab cakes.

Day Two

Start your day off right with a morning stroll down to Doc Taylor’s restaurant for breakfast. Try a classic East Coast breakfast, The Left Side, or the original “Doc Taylor”. If you feel like spicing things up, order their world famous Bloody Mary for a mere $2.50!

After breakfast pack your picnic lunch and sunscreen for a day at the beach. This is why you came here, right? Relax on the beach or test your skills at surfing or boogie boarding. Or step out front of our hotel and cast in a line from the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier for your chance to catch crabs, bluefish, clams, and more.

Stay beachside and unwind from the day with fresh seafood from Catch 31 Fish House and Bar. Enjoy plump sea scallops with a glass of wine by their outdoor firepits. Continue your fun with a nightcap at Waterman’s Surfside Grill. Don’t leave without trying the house classic and a Virginia Beach classic, the Orange Crush.

Day Three

If you didn’t stay out too late the night before, be sure to rise early and watch a beautiful Virginia Beach sunrise. A few of our favorite spots include the Cape Henry Lighthouse and Sandbridge Beach, but really anywhere along the shore is a great spot to watch the sunrise.

Reward yourself for waking up early and sampling a Southern classic, chicken and waffles, at Bay Local Eatery. This home-grown restaurant serves up one of the best brunch scenes in town. A must try is their sorbet mimosas, made with real sorbet. Got a large group? Then go for the jumbo mimosa, made with 1 ½ bottles of champagne.

After brunch check out some of the area’s top attractions like the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, Military Aviation Museum or the Ocean Breeze Waterpark. And of course, we totally understand if you just want to spend another relaxing day at the beach!

Spend your evening strolling through the streets of Virginia Beach’s downtown, Town Center. Visitors can enjoy shopping, shows, and tasty food. Catch a show at the Sandler Center before or after dinner at Gordon Biersch, where you can sip some savory suds and take a bite out of their hand tossed pizza or flatbread. End your evening with a martini at Twist Martini or a glass of wine at Sonoma Wine Bar & Bistro.
